You already hold an Advanced certificate and want to expand what you can do.

You fly missions where keeping the drone in sight is the limiting factor.

Your work covers long distances or remote areas — pipelines, transmission lines, forestry, rail, large farms.

You're part of a SAR team or industrial inspection program that needs BVLOS capability.

You fly for work — real estate, inspection, mapping, photography, film.

You need to fly in controlled airspace, near airports, or in cities.

You operate close to people, over people, or at events.

You want the option to apply for SFOCs later for specialized operations.

Some drone operations need extra authorization from Transport Canada beyond what your Basic or Advanced certificate covers.

// SFOC Support

You may need an SFOC if you plan to fly beyond visual line of sight, over crowds, with a drone over 25 kg, above 400 feet, or for specialized work like spraying. Foreign operators flying in Canadian airspace also need one.

FlySmart handles the application with you gathering the operational details, writing the safety case, and submitting the paperwork to Transport Canada on your behalf. Approvals typically take 30 days or more, so apply well ahead of your planned operation.
